November 8, 2014 - The Fitchburg High School boys' cross country
team ran to a nineteenth place finish at the Central Massachusetts Division I Qualifier held Saturday afternoon at the Gardner Golf Course.
Josh Higgins led the way for the Red Raiders, finishing 66th over the 2.95 mile course in 17:36. Rounding out the
scoring for Fitchburg were: Jared Morcaldi, 90th, 18:21; Anthony Detmer, 99th, 18:47; Travis Morcaldi, 135th, 20:58; Noah Giordano, 136th,
21:01, and Santiago Lopez, 137th, 21:04.
October 25, 2014 - The Fitchburg High School boys' cross country ran to a sixth place finish at the Mid-Wach A Championship Meet
held at Ghiloni Park in Marlboro Saturday afternoon.
Leading the way for the Red Raiders in the Varsity Race over the 5K course was Jared Morcaldi, who finished twenty-third in 19:16. Rounding out the
top seven for Fitchburg were Josh Higgins, twenty-fourth, 19:25; Anthony Detmer, twenty-eighth, 19:54; Tanner Hansen, thirty-ninth, 22:29; Elio Rodriguez, fortieth, 22:48; Noah Giordano, forty-first,
22:50; and Gabriel Reyes, forty-second, 23:33.
Representing Fitchburg in the Junior Varisty Race were: Cristian Blackston, forty-fourth, 20:55; Travis Morcaldi, eighty-seventh, 23:21; and
Grayson Chesbrough, one-hundred and twenty-fourth, 25:53.
The Red Raiders will prepare for the District E Central Massachusetts Championship Meet to be held on November 8th at the Gardner Golf Course with the
Division I Race scheduled to get underway at 2:30 p.m.
October 20, 2014 - The Fitchburg High School boys' cross country were defeated in their final dual
meet of the season by the Oakmont Regional Spartans, 20 to 39, Monday afternoon at Oakmont.
Leading the way for the Red Raiders over the 2.8 mile course was Josh Higgins, who finished fourth in 17:32. Completing the
scoring for Fitchburg were: Jared Morcaldi, fifth, 17:39; Anthony Detmer, seventh, 17:54; Tanner Hansen, fifteenth, 20:10; and Santiago Lopez,
eighteenth, 21:01.
Also running well were: Elio Rodriguez, nineteenth, 21:02; Janathian Santiago, twenty-first, 21:46; Travis Morcaldi, twenty-second,
21:48; Gabriel Reyes, twenty-third, 22:23; and Noah Giordano, twenty-fifth, 22:58.
The Red Raiders travel to Ghiloni Park in Marlboro Saturday morning to compete in the Midland-Wachusett A League A Championship with the
Varsity Race race scheduled to get underway at 12:00 p.m.
October 18, 2014 - The Fitchburg High School boys' cross country team finished fifth at the 57th
Annual Wachusett Invitational held Saturday morning at Wachusett Regional.
In the Varsity A Race leading the way for the Red Raiders over the 5K course was Jared Morcaldi, who finished seventeenth in 19:08. Completing the scoring
were: Josh Higgins, twenty-third, 19:52; Tanner Hansen, thirty-fifth, 22:40; Santiago Lopez, thirty-seventh, 23:28; and Noah Giordano, thirty-eighth, 23:29.
In the JV A Race representing Fitchburg were Gabriel Reyes, twenty-fourth, 23:19, and Grayson Chesbrough Chesbrough, twenty-ninth, 28:27. Also competing
for Fitchburg in the All-Freshmen Race were: Cristian Blackston, thirtieth, 21:19; Elio Rodriguez, thirty-first, 21:22; and Travis Morcaldi, forty-eighth, 23:51.
The Red Raiders travel to Oakmont Regional Monday afternoon with that race scheduled to get underway at 3:30 p.m.
October 14, 2014 - The Fitchburg High School boys' cross country were defeated by the Shrewsbury
Colonials, 21 to 39, Tuesday afternoon at Coggshall Park.
Leading the way for the Red Raiders over the 2.9 mile course was Josh Higgins, who finished third in 17:20. Completing the
scoring for Fitchburg were: Jared Morcaldi, fourth, 17:26; Anthony Detmer, ninth, 18:33; Elio Rodriguez, twenty-second, 19:43; and Tanner
Hansen, twenty-sixth, 20:04.
Also running well were: Alex Romero, thirty-sixth, 21:32; Noah Giordano, thirty-eighth, 21:45; Santiago Lopez, thirty-ninth,
21:49; Janathian Santiago, fortieth, 21:49; Gabriel Reyes, forty-fifth, 22:05; Travis Morcaldi, forty-sixth, 22:15; and Grayson Chesbrough,
forty-ninth, 27:03.
The Red Raiders travel to Wachusett Regional this Saturday morning to compete in the 57th Wachusett Invitational with the
Varsity Race race scheduled to get underway at 10:00 a.m.
October 7, 2014 - The Fitchburg High School boys' cross country were overrun by a powerful Wachusett team, 15 to 50, Tuesday afternoon
at Wachusett Regional.
Leading the way for the Red Raiders over the 5K course was Josh Higgins, who finished eleventh in 19:37. Completing the
top five for Fitchburg were: Jared Morcaldi, twelfth, 19:39; Anthony Detmer, seventeenth, 20:53; Cristian Blackston, eighteenth,
21:00; and Elio Rodriguez, nineteenth, 21:01.
Also running well were: Tanner Hansen, twenty-sixth, 22:23; Janathian Santiago, twenty-eighth, 23:26; Alex Romero, twenty-ninth, 23:38; Noah Giordano, thirtieth,
24:12; Travis Morcaldi, thirty-second, 24:38; and Gabriel Reyes, thirty-third, 26:07.
The Red Raiders host Shrewsbury next Tuesday afternoon with that race scheduled to get
underway at 4:00 p.m.
September 30, 2014 - The Fitchburg High School boys' cross country lost a close meet to Leominster, 26 to 33, Tuesday afternoon
at Leominster.
Leading the way for the Red Raiders over the 2.8 mile course was Josh Higgins, who finished second in 17:04. Completing the
scoring for Fitchburg were: Jared Morcaldi, third, 17:16; Anthony Detmer, fifth, 17:59; Cristian Blackston, eleventh,
19:53; and Tanner Hansen, twelfth, 20:19.
Also running well were: Alex Romero, fifteenth, 20:32; Noah Giordano, sixteenth, 20:33; Travis Morcaldi, twenty-second, 21:42; Gabriel Reyes, twenty-third, 22:32;
and Grayson Chesbrough, twenty-eighth, 24:04.

September 23, 2014 - The Fitchburg High School boys' cross country lost their second meet of the season
to Shepherd Hill Regional, 19 to 39, Tuesday afternoon at Shepherd Hill.
Leading the way for the Red Raiders over the 2.7 mile course was Josh Higgins, who finished fourth in 16:48. Completing the
scoring for Fitchburg were: Jared Morcaldi, fifth, 16:55; Anthony Detmer, eighth, 18:01; Cristian Blackston, tenth,
18:18; and Alex Romero, eighteenth, 20:02.
Also running well were: Noah Giordano, twentieth, 20:28; Travis Morcaldi, twenty-first, 21:15; Gabriel Reyes, twenty-third, 21:45; Tanner Hansen,
twenty-fourth, 21:49; Janathian Santiago, twenty=fifth, 21:50; and Grayson Chesbrough, twenty-ninth, 24:07.
The Red Raiders travel to arch-rival Leominster next Tuesday afternoon with that race scheduled to get
underway at 3:30 p.m.
September 16, 2014 - The Fitchburg High School boys' cross country team lost their season opener
to Algonquin Regional, 16 to 47, Tuesday afternoon at Coggshall Park.
Leading the way for the Red Raiders over the 2.9 mile course was Josh Higgins, who finished fifth in 17:56. Completing the
scoring for Fitchburg were: Jared Morcaldi, eighth, 18:12; Anthony Detmer, sixteenth, 19:09; Elio Rodriguez, eighteenth,
19:42; and Cristian Blackston, twenty-second, 20:01.
