June 11, 2011 - Fitchburg High School junior Toni Onikeku jumped 6' to finish tied
for fifteeth overall, at the New England Championship Meet held Saturday morning at Burlington High School, in Burlington, Vermont.
June 7 & 8, 2011 - Fitchburg High School junior Toni Onikeku leaped 5' 11.5", to break
the outdoor track & field decathlon high jump record previously held by numerous other FHS track & field alumni, while sophomores Ezra Brice
and Connor Lemieux shined in the individual competition, at the 28th Annual Central Massachusetts District E Decathlon,
held at Shrewsbury High School. One hundred and thirty-one athletes representing more than twenty-five
teams competed in the two day event that features the 100 meters, long jump, triple jump,
high jump, discus, shot put, javelin, 110 meter high hurdles, 400 meters and 1500 meters.
For the Red Raiders sophomores Ezra Brice and Connor Lemieux, finished 43rd, 4,197, and 49th,
3,905 points, respectively, while Onikeku had to withdraw from the competition on the second day due to injury, finished day one with
2,171 points.
Onikeku will try to rebound from his injury when he travels to Burlington, Vermont, this Saturday to compete in the New England
Championship Meet scheduled to get underway at 10:00 a.m.
June 6, 2011 - The Fitchburg High School boys' outdoor track & field team combined for a fourth place finish in the team standings at the 2nd Annual Central Massachusetts District E Weight Pentathlon, held Monday afternoon at Lunenburg High School. Fifty-eight male and female athletes representing ten area high school teams competed in the event that featured the 100 meters, discus, shot put, javelin, and 200 meters.
The Red Raiders' team comprised of sophomores Tommy Duong, 7th, 2,109 points, and Mike Richard, 18th, 1,426 points, along with freshman Jose Marrero, 20th, 1,312 points, combined for the team total of 4,847 points. With the introduction of the javelin and the 200 meters, which replaced the long jump and 400 meters, records were established for team total points, individual overall points (Duong), sophomore points (Duong), freshmen points (Marrero), and individual marks in the javelin and 200 meters (Duong).
June 4, 2011 - Junior Toni Onikeku finished fifth at the MIAA State Meet,
clearing 6' 4" on his first attempt. Onikeku will represent the Red Raiders at the New England Championship
Meet to be held at Burlington High School, Burlington, Vermont, next Saturday morning with that meet scheduled
to get underway at 10:00 a.m.
May 31, 2011 - Senior Brandon Davis, and junior Toni Onikeku were
selected Mid-Wach A All-Stars at the Mid-Wach A Coaches' post-season meeting held on Tuesday night,
May 31st. Onikeku was selected based on his first place performance in the high jump at the Mid-Wach A
Championship Meet held at Algonquin Regional on May 25th, while Davis was selected as an At-Large All-Star
for his contributions to his team, and the league, throughout the 2011 Spring season.
May 28, 2011 - The Fitchburg High School boys' outdoor
track & field team turned in several season, and personal bests, to finish in twenty-sixth place
at the Central MA Qualifier held Saturday morning at Fitchburg State University.
Junior Toni Onikeku scored all of Fitchburg's points in the high jump as he cleared a career best 6' 4",
to finish second, while senior Brandon Davis finished eleventh in the mile with a career best 4:39.00. Onikeku
and Davis then teamed with Connor Lemieux and Ezra Brice to run a season best 46.22 in the 400 meter relay
to finish tenth overall. Brice also competed in the 100 meters, narrowly missing the finals by finishing
ninth in 11.87.
Onikeku will travel to Bridgewater State University next Saturday afternoon to compete in the MIAA
State Championship scheduled to get underway at 3:00 p.m.
May 25, 2011 - Junior Toni Onikeku led the Fitchburg High School boys' outdoor
track & field team to a sixth place finish Wednesday afternoon at the Mid-Wach A League Championship Meet held at Algonquin Regional.
Onikeku captured the high jump with a career best height of 6' 1", finished fourth in the 200 meters, 24.40,
and teamed with Julio Alvarez, Connor Lemieux, and Ezra Brice in the 400 meter relay to finish sixth in 48.13. Brandon Davis
and Ezra Brice were the Red Raiders other top point scorers as Davis finished fourth in the mile, 4:48.41, while teaming with
Lemieux, Jason Bugarin, and Josh Jenness in the 1600 meter relay to finish sixth in 3:59.92; while Brice finished fifth in the triple jump, 39' 1", and fifth
in the 100 meters, 12.11. Fitchburg's other points came in the 3200 meter relay comprised of Bugarin, Jenness, Connor Dufour, and
Ryain MacLean, which finshied fifth in 10:23.39.
The Red Raiders travel to Fitchburg State University Saturday morning to compete in the Central Massachusetts State
Qualifier scheduled to get underway at 9:30 a.m.
May 16, 2011 - Junior Toni Onikeku led the Fitchburg High School boys' outdoor
track & field team Saturday morning scoring the Red Raiders only points in the 50th Annual "Fred Warren" District E Invitational
Class A Meet held at Shrewsbury High School.
Onikeku tied for third in the high jump with a height of 5' 10", and was sixth in the 200 meters, 23.95. Also
representing Fitchburg were Brandon Davis in the mile, eleventh, 4:46.40, and in the javelin, twenty-third, 112' 8";
Connor Lemieux, twenty-first, 400 meters, 56.94; and Ross McNamara, twenty-third, discus, 82' 7". The 400 meter
relay team comprised of Davis, Lemieux, Onikeku, and Ezra Brice also competed in the meet, but were disqualified due to a
zone violation.
The Red Raiders travel to Algonquin Regional next Wednesday afternoon to compete in the Mid-Wach A Championship Meet
scheduled to get underway at 3:30 p.m.
May 12, 2011 - The Fitchburg High School boys' outdoor track & field team defeated arch-rival
Leominster in their final dual meet of the season, 83-61, Thursday afternoon at Crocker Field.
The Red Raiders were led by three double winners as senior Brandon Davis, captured the two mile, 10:39.9, and
400 meters, 54.9; senior Julio Alvarez captured the high jump, 5' 6", and javelin, 129' 2"; and sophomore Ezra Brice captured
the 100 meters, 11.9, and the triple jump, 37' 1. Individual wins went to Connor Dufour, pole vault, 6' 6"; Tommy Duong, discus,
103' 2"; Jason Bugarin, mile, 5:16.6; Toni Onikeku, 200 meters, 23.9; and the 400 meter relay team comprised of Mike Reardon,
Connor Lemieux, Onikeku, and Brice, 46.2.
Finsihing second were Onikeku, long jump, 18' 1"; Davis, high jump, 5' 2", and javelin, 115' 3"; Ross McNamara, discus,
101'; Sergio Powell, shot put, 36' 8"; and Bugarin, 800 meters, 2:23.2. Completing the scoring by finishing third were Lemieux,
long jump, 17' 8", and 100 meters, 12.1; Mike Richard, shot put, 31' 11", and 400 meter intermediate hurdles, 1:20.2; Alvarez,
110 meter high hurdles, 20.3, and 400 meters, 60.4; and Eric Tran, 200 meters, 27.7.

May 10, 2011 - The Fitchburg High School boys' outdoor track & field team was
defeated by Wachusett Regional, 111-33, Tuesday afternoon at Crocker Field.
The Red Raiders were led by senior Brandon Davis, who was first in the two mile, 10:42.8, second in the mile, 5:17.2,
and third in the javelin, 117' 8"; junior Toni Onikeku, first in the high jump, 6', and second in the 200 meters, 23.9; and
sophomore Ezra Brice, first in the 100 meters, 11.8, and second in the triple jump, 35' 9". Completing the scoring by finishing third
were Jason Bugarin, mile, 5:23.3; and Mike Richard, 400 meter intermediate hurdles, 1:27.1.
The Red Raiders host arch-rival Leominster Thursday afternoon with that meet scheduled to get underway at 3:30 p.m.
May 7, 2011 - The Fitchburg High School freshmen-sophomore boys' turned in
several top performances Saturday morning at Mid-Wach Freshmen-Sophomore Meet held at Algonquin Regional, before the meet ended abruptly due to lightning
strikes in the immediate proximity.
Sophomore Tommy Duong led the way finsihing first in the discus, 109', and second in the javelin, 116', while other
field event performances were turned in by Jose Marrero, discus, 64'; and Ezra Brice, triple jump, 35'.
Competing in the 100 meters prior to the cancellation of the remaining events were Brice, 12.0; Connor
Lemieux, 12.6; Leon Wilson, 12.8; and Eric Tran, 13.4.
The Red Raiders host Wachusett Regional Tuesday afternoon with that meet scheduled to get underway at 3:30 p.m.
May 6, 2011 - The Fitchburg High School boys' outdoor track & field team was
defeated by Worcester Doherty, 90-42, Friday afternoon at Crocker Field.
The Red Raiders were led by sophomore Ezra Brice, who finished first in the long jump, 17' 8.75",and 100 meters, 11.5,
while capturing second in the triple jump, 37' 6", and third in the 200 meters, 24.1. Also finishing first were Brandon Davis,
mile, 4:49.5, and 800 meters, 2:13.7; and Jason Bugarin, pole vault, 8'. Finishing second were Tommy Duong, javelin, 113' 1"; and
Ryain MacLean, pole vault, 6' 6", while completing the scoring by finishing third were Sergio Powell, shot put, 36' 4", and
javelin, 103' 9"; Ross McNamara, discus, 93' 1"; Bugarin, two mile, 11:57.4; and Connor Lemieux, 400 meters, 56.8.

May 3, 2011 - The Fitchburg High School boys' outdoor track & field team was overwhelmed
by the Algonquin Regional Tomahawks, 131-14, Tuesday afternoon in Northboro.
The Red Raiders managed only one frist place in the meet as Brandon Davis captured the mile in 4:53.7. Capturing two second
place finishes was Toni Onikeku, who was runner-up in the high jump, 5' 10", and in the 200 meters, 24.2. Completing the scoring by
finishing third were Tommy Duong, discus, 103' 6"; Ezra Brice, 200 meters, 24.6; and Julio Alvarez in the high jump, 5' 8".
The Red Raiders host Worcester Doherty Friday afternoon at Crocker Field with that meet scheduled to get
underway at 3:30 p.m.
April 29, 2011 - The Fitchburg High School boys' outdoor track & field team turned in a number of
fine performances at the 35th Annual District E Robert Duncan Invitational Relay Meet held Saturday morning at St. John's (Shrewsbury).
In the field events the Red Raiders were represented by the long jump team comprised of Toni Onikeku, Ezra Brice,
and Connor Lemieux, which combined for a distance of 48' 6"; the high jump team comprised of Onikeku, Brandon Davis, and Jason
Bugarin, which leaped to a combined height of 15' 4"; the javelin team comprised of Mike Richard, Lemieux, and Davis, which
combined for a distance of 291' 4"; the discus team comprised of Brice, Jose Marrero, and Josh Jenness, which combined for a
distance of 193'; and the shot put team comprised of Richard, Marrero, and Jenness, which combined for a distance of 78' 2.5".
In the running events the 1600 meter relay team comprised of Davis, Bugarin, Ryain MacLean, and Jenness, ran a season best 4:11.5;
while other fine performances were turned in by the sprint medley relay team comprised of Brice, Lemieux, Onikeku, and Davis, in
a combined time of 4:06.5; and the 800 meter relay team comprised of Eric Tran, Brice, Lemieux, and Onikeku, which finished in 1:48.9.
The Red Raiders travel to Algonquin Regional Tuesday afternoon with that scheduled to get underway at 4:00 p.m.
April 26, 2011 - The Fitchburg High School boys' outdoor track & field team earned their first win of the season,
defeating North Middlesex Regional, 79-66, Tuesday afternoon at Crocker Field.
The Red Raiders had three double-winners in the meet as Brandon Davis captured the javelin, 120' 2", and
mile, 4:43.0; Jason Bugarin captured the two mile, 11:43.9, and pole vault, 6' 6"; and Toni Onikeku captured the high jump,
5' 10", and 200 meters, 24.1. Individual wins went to Ezra Brice, triple jump, 38' 11.5"; Sergio Powell, shot put, 37' 2";
Tommy Duong, discus, 107'; and Berny Platel, 100 meters, 12.0.
Finishing second for Fitchburg were Connor Dufour, pole vault, 5' 6"; Platel, long jump, 17'; Julio Alvarez, javelin, 114' 6", and high jump,
5' 8"; Ross McNamara, discus, 91' 5"; Brice, 400 meters, 57.6; and Davis, 800 meters, 2:23.3. Completing the scoring by

16' 11", and 200 meters, 24.9; Josh Jenness, discus, 81' 9"; Alvarez, 110 meter high hurdles, 19.5, and 400 meter intermediate hurdles, 1:11.5.

April 12, 2011 - The Fitchburg High School boys' outdoor track & field team
suffered their second loss of the season falling to Milford, 90-55, Tuesday afternoon at the Scarlet Hawks home track.
Ezra Brice led the way for the Red Raiders, winning the long jump, 18' 2", triple jump, 37' 7", while finishing second
in the 200 meters in 25.3. Brandon Davis and Toni Onikeku captured two events each, as Davis won the mile, 4:58.2,
and the 800 meters, 2:16.3, while Onikeku won the high jump, 5' 8", and 200 meters, 24.1.
Finishing second for Fitchburg were Jason Bugarin, two mile, 11:30.7; Bernie Platel, 100 meters, 12.1; and Christian Capoccia,
800 meters, 2:17.7. Completing the scoring for Fitchburg with a third place finish were Sergio Powell, shot put, 36' 6";
Platel, triple jump, 35' 9"; Tommy Duong, discus, 98' 6"; and Julio Alvarez, 400 meter intermediate hurdles, 1:12.9.

April 7, 2011 - The Fitchburg High School boys' outdoor track & field team
lost their home opener Friday afternoon, 91-53, to the Shrewsbury Colonials at Crocker Field.
Quinton Perkins, in his final dual meet of the season, led the way, winning the high jump, 6', 100 meters, 11.3, while teaming with Leon
Wilson, Toni Onikeku, and Ezra Brice to capture the 400 meter relay in 46.7. Perkins was also runner-up in the
triple jump with a distance of 38' 7.5". Brandon Davis was a double-winner for Fitchburg capturing the mile, 4:56.0,
and the 800 meters, 2:12.2. Also finishing first for Fitchburg was Tommy Duong in the discus, 108' 10"; Brice in the triple
jump, 38' 8.5"; and Onikeku, 200 meters, 24.5.
Finshing second were Onikeku, high jump, 5' 8"; Brice, 200 meters, 25.0; and Christian Capoccia,
800 meters, 2:13.4. Completing the scoring for Fitchburg with a third place was Sergio Powell, shot put, 37' 1.5"
