June 14, 2010 - The Fitchburg High School men's 2010
outdoor track & field team celebrated the conclusion of the season Monday afternoon in
the Fitchburg High School "Cafe", with a "Pizza Party" sponsored by the
team's coaches. The pizza party was followed by the presentation of individual
and team awards provided by the Fitchburg High School coaching staff, and the athletic
department.
Athletes recognized for their contribution to this year’s team included seniors Tyler
Boudreau and Brandon Davis; junior Jon VanderHamm, and freshman Adam Whitcomb. Boudreau
received the Most Valuable Athlete; Davis, the Coaches' Award; VanderHamm,
Most Improved Athlete; and Whitcomb, the Freshman Award. Varsity and Junior
Varsity Awards were also presented to all athletes who have earned the right to wear the
"F", for their commitment, hard work, and dedication to the sport of track & field.
Coach DiPilato, Moore, Scott, and Woods would like to personally congratulate the
men's team, and all others who contributed to the program’s success throughout the 2010
season.
June 8 & 9, 2010 - The Red Raiders team comprised of Ezra Brice, Connor Lemieux,
and Toni Onikeku combined for 8,889 points to finish twenty-first in the two day event that featured the
100 meters, long jump, shot put, high jump, 400 meters, 110 meter high hurdles,discus, triple jump,
javelin, and 1500 meter run. Jon VanderHamm also represented the Red Raiders as an individual
scoring 2,735 points to finish one-hundred and eighth.
Brice was the top point scorer with 3,160 points, finishing eighty-eighth, followed by Lemieux's 3,069 points,
ninety-second, and Onikeku's 2,994 points, ninety-sixth, to complete the team's total.
The Red Raiders will celebrate their season on Monday afternoon, on June 14th, in
the Fitchburg High School "Cafe", with a "Pizza Party" sponsored by the
teams' coaches.
June 7, 2010 - Ross McNamara earned a total of 1,244 points to finish twenty-first,
while Dylan Panzarella was twenty-second, scoring 1,234 points. The one day event featured the 100 meters,
shot put, discus, javelin, and 200 meters.
The Red Raiders travel to Holy Cross tomorrow and Wednesday to compete in the 27th Annual Central
Massachusetts District E Decathlon scheduled to get underway at 3:30 p.m.
June 5, 2010 - Fitchburg High School sophomore Quinton
Perkins represented the Red Raiders in the long jump at the 2010 M.I.A.A. Central
Massachusetts Track & Field Championship held Saturday morning at Westfield State
College.
Perkin's jump of 20' 5.25" was good enough to place seventeenth overall.
The Red Raiders travel to Lunenburg High School on Monday to compete in the District E Weight Pentathlon
with the meet scheduled to get underway at 3:30 p.m.
May 29, 2010 - The Fitchburg High School men’s outdoor
track & field team ran to a twenty-first place finish at the 2010 M.I.A.A. Central
Massachusetts Track & Field Championship held Saturday morning at Fitchburg State
College.
Sophomore Quinton Perkins led the way for the Red Raiders finishing third in the long jump, 21' 10.50',
and was eighth in the 100 meters, 11.93. Placing for Fitchburg in the meet were Tyler Boudreau, high jump,
5' 8", fourteenth; and Berny Platel, triple jump, 38' 5.5", seventeenth. Also representing Fitchburg
were Brandon Davis, mile; and the 400 meter relay team comprised Ezra Brice, Jeff Duenas, Platel, and Perkins.
Perkins will represent the Red Raiders in the long jump at the M.I.A.A. All-State Meet hosted by Westfield
State College scheduled to get underway at 10:00 a.m.
May 20, 2010 - The Fitchburg High School men’s outdoor
track & field team finished fourth in the Mid-Wach A Championship Meet held
Thursday afternoon at Algonquin Regional High School.
The Red Raiders were led by Quinton Perkins, who finished second in the high jump,
6' 2", third in the 100 meters, 11.63, fourth in the 200 meters, 24.24, and fifth in
the long jump, 19' 10.5". Tyler Boudreau placed in three events, finishing second
in the 110 meter high hurdles, 16.03, fourth in both the high jump, 5' 8", and the pole
vault, 10', and also combined with Brandon Davis, Jeff Duenas, and Ezra Brice to finish
fourth in the 1600 meter relay, 3:45.80. Also scoring valuable points in the meet were
Bernie Platel, triple jump, 39' 4.50", fifth; 3200 meter relay team comprised of
Chris MacLean, Jon VanderHamm, Eric Bennett, and Zach Cote, 10:48.19, fifth; the 400
meter relay team comprised of Duenas, Chris Jellison, Eli Jackson, and Brice, 46.70,
fifth; Brandon Davis, 2 mile, 10:29.86, sixth; and Tommy Duong, discus, 98' 8", sixth.
The Red Raiders now prepare for the M.I.A.A. Central Massachusetts State
Qualifier hosted by Fitchburg State College next Saturday with that meet scheduled to get
underway at 9:30 a.m.
May 15, 2010 - The Fitchburg High School men’s outdoor
track & field team turned in some fine performances Saturday morning at the Forty-Ninth Annual
"Fred Warren" Boys Invitatinal Track & Field Meet held at Lunenburg High School.
The Red Raiders were led Tyler Boudreau, who finsihed tenth in pole vault, 10 6",
and eleventh in the 400 meter intermediate hurdles, 1:03.93. Other performances turned in
at the meet were Ezra Brice, 200 meters, 24.84, thirteenth; Jeff Duenas, 400 meters, 55.94, sixteenth;
Ross McNamara, discus, 95' 6", twenty-second; and Chris Jellison, 100 meters, 12.35, twenty-fifth.
The Red Raiders travel to Algonquin Regional Thursday afternoon to compete in the Mid-Wach
A Championships with that meet scheduled to get underway at 4:00 p.m..
May 11, 2010 - The Fitchburg High School men’s outdoor track
& field team was defeated by North Middlesex Regional, 88-57, Tuesday afternoon at Crocker
Field.
The Red Raiders had four first place performances in the meet with Sergio Powell capturing the shot put,
40' 9"; Brandon Davis, 2 mile, 10:41.0; Jamison DiGeronimo, discus, 91' 6"; and Tyler
Boudreau, high jump, 5' 8".
Finishing second for Fitchburg were Boudreau, 110 meter high hurdles, 16.8, and pole vault,
10'; Eric Myles, shot put, 40' 5"; Jeff Duenas, long jump, 16' 8.5"; Chris Jellison,
100 meters, 12.1; 2 mile, Jon VanderHamm, mile, 5:26.0; Tommy Duong, discus, 90' 2";
and Toni Onikeku, 5' 4". Completing the scoring with third place were Ezra Brice,
long jump 16' 8", triple jump, 35' .5", and 200 meters, 24.9; Powell, 400 meters, 65.3;
Eli Jackson, 400 meter intermediate hurdles, 1:17.8; Ross McNamara, discus, 81' 1"; and
Davis, 800 meters, 2:15.4.

49th Annual "Fred Warren" District E Class A Boys Track & Field Class Championships scheduled to get
underway at 9:30 a.m.
May 7, 2010 - The Fitchburg High School men’s outdoor track
& field team was defeated by Wachusett Regional, 111-34, Friday afternoon at Wachusett's home track.
The Red Raiders were led by Quinton Perkins, who captured three events, the long jump,
20’ 9.25”, the high jump, 5’ 8”, and the 200 meters, 23.7, while finishing second in the 100 meters,
11.3. Also finishing first was Tyler Boudreau in the pole vault, 9' 6".
Finishing second for Fitchburg were Boudreau, high jump, 5' 6", and 400 meter intermediate hurdles,
1:02.9. Also finishing second was Brandon Davis in the mile, 4:46.3. Completing the scoring with third place
finishes were Sergio Powell, shot put, 41' 3.75"; and Boudreau, 110 meter high hurdles, 17.7.
The Red Raiders travel to North Middlesex Regional next Tuesday afternoon with that meet scheduled to get
underway at 4:00 p.m.
May 1, 2010 - The Fitchburg High School men’s outdoor track
& field team performed well at the 34th Annual District E Robert
Duncan Division I Relays held at St. John’s of Shrewsbury Saturday afternoon.
The high jump team comprised of Eli Jackson, Tyler Boudreau, and Connor Lemieux led the Red Raiders
by finsihed eighth with a combined height of 16' .75". Other teams competing for Fitchburg were
the 800 meter relay team comprised of Toni Onikeku, Lemieux, Jackson, and Ezra Brice,
1:42.4, ninth; the spring medley relay team comprised of Jon VanderHamm, Boudreau, Jeff
Duenas, and Brandon Davis, 4:07.1, twelfth; the long jump team comprised of Bernie Platel,
Brice, and Boudreau, 48' 11.5", thirteenth; and the 1600 meter relay team comprised of
Erik Bennett, VanderHamm, Boudreau, and Davis, 3:58.0, thirteenth.
The Red Raiders travel to Wachusett Regional this Friday afternoon with that meet scheduled
to get underway at 4:00 p.m.
April 25, 2010 - The Fitchburg High School men’s outdoor
track & field team turned in many fine performances at the Mid-Wach
Freshman/Sophomore Meet held Sunday morning at Algonquin Regional in Northboro.
Representing the Red Raiders in the meet were Ezra Brice, long jump, 16' 8.5", 200, 24.8,
and 400 meter relay, 47.2; Tommy Duong, discus, 94' 1", and shot put, 34' 6"; Julian Gittens,
javelin, 101' 10", long jump, 16' 10"; 100 meters, 12.8; and 200 meters, 26.5; Chris Jellison, long jump,
13' 8", 100 meters, 12.1, and 200 meters, 25.4; Connor Lemieux, high jump, 5' 2", long jump,
15' 1.5", 200 meters, 27.0, and 400 meter relay, 47.2; Colton Matthews, 100 meters, 13.3, and
400 meter intermediate hurdles, 1:17.7; Quinton Perkins, long jump, 20' 10", high jump, 5' 8",
100 meters, 11.6, and 400 meter relay, 47.2; Bernie Platel, triple jump, 38' 6", 100 meters,

April 15, 2010 - The Fitchburg High School men’s outdoor
track & field team was defeated by Algonquin Regional, 94-51, Thursday afternoon at
Crocker Field.
The Red Raiders were led by Quentin Perkins, who won three events, the long jump, 19' 10",
the high jump, 6' 2", the 100 meters, 11.9, and was second in the 110 meter high hurdles, 17.6.
Also finishing first were Tyler Boudreau, 400 meter intermediate hurdles, 1:02.0, and Ezra Brice,
200 meters, 24.2.
Finishing second for Fitchburg were Sergio Powell, shot put, 40' 5"; Boudreau, pole vault, 11';
Kyle Phillips, javelin, 123'3.25"; Steph'fon Teague, 100 meters, 12.4; and Brandon Davis, mile,
5:01.8. Completing the scoring with a third place performance were Eric Myles, shot put, 39' 11";
Boudreau, high jump, 5' 10"; and Jeffrey Duenas, 400 meters, 55.8.
The Red Raiders travel to Algonquin Regional next Saturday morning, to

April 12, 2010 - The Fitchburg High School men’s outdoor track
& field team picked up their first win of the season, defeating the Milford Scarlet Hawks,
76-65, Monday afternoon at Crocker Field.
The Red Raiders were once again led by Tyler Bourdreau, who captured four events,
the high jump, 5' 10", the pole vault, 10', the 110 meter high hurdles, 16.4, and the 400
meter intermediate hurdles, 1:02.9. Bernie Platel captured two events, the triple jump, 37' 9",
and the 100 meters, while teaming up with Wesley Colon, Anthony Figueroa, and Ezra Brice, to
win the 400 relay in 47.5. Brandon Davis was also a double winner, capturing the 2 mile,
11:11.0, and 400 meters, 56.5. Also finishing first were Jamison DiGeronimo, discus, 91' 4";
and Brice, 200 meters, 24.3.
Finishing second for Fitchburg were Brice, long jump, 15' 11"; Kyle Phillips, javelin,
126’ 10"; Sergio Powell, shot put, 39' 6.5"; Chris Jellison, 200 meters, 25.4; and Abiodun Akanni,
high jump, tie, 5' 4". Completing the scoring with third place finishes were Alex Vazquez, long jump,
15' 9.5"; Eric Myles, shot put, 38' 10.25; Adam Whitcomb, two mile, 13:33.0; Anthony Figueroa,
100 meters, 12.2; Ross McNamara, discus, 88' 7"; Jon VanderHamm, mile, 5:37.1; and Jeffrey Duenas,
400 meters, 58.1.

April 8, 2010 - The Fitchburg High School men’s outdoor track
& field team saw their record fall to 0-2, losing to Shrewsbury, 110-35,
Thursday afternoon at Crocker Field.
Tyler Boudreau led the Red Raiders capturing the 110 meter high hurdles, 17.2, and high jump,
5' 8". Also finishing first were Jamison DiGeronimo, discus, 92' 5"; and Eric Myles,
shot put, 38' 10".
Second place performances were turned in by Boudreau, 400 meter intermediate hurdles, 1:03.1;
Ezra Brice, 200 meters, 24.8; and Bernie Platel, triple jump, 36' 7.5".
Completing the scoring with third place performances were Patrick Hodges, long jump, 18' 6.5";
Alex Vazquez, triple jump, 32' 11.5"; Anthony Figueroa, 100 meters, 12.6; Abiodun Akanni,
high jump, 5' 2"; Brandon Davis, mile, 5:03.0; and Ross McNamara, discus, 89' 4".

April 1, 2010 - The Fitchburg High School men's outdoor
track & field team opened their season Thursday afternoon, losing to Arch Rival Leominster,
78-61, at Crocker Field
The Red Raiders were led by Tyler Boudreau, who captured four events, the pole vault, 11',
the 110 meter high hurdles, 16.7, the high jump, 5' 8", and the 400 intermediate hurdles, 1:02.5.
Brandon Davis was a double winner, capturing the mile in 5:17.0, and the 800 in 2:21.4. Other first
place performances were turned in by Sergio Powell, shot put, 42; 8.5"; Jon VanderHamm, two mile,
12:21.0; Jamison DiGeronimo, discus, 90' 2"; and Ezra Brice, 200 meters, 24.7.
Finishing second were Tommy Duong, shot put, 34' 6.5"; and Anthony Figueroa, 100 meters, 12.3.
Completing the scoring by finishing third were Bernie Platel, long jump, 16' 10"; Powell, javelin, 121' 9";
Wesley Colon, 100 meters, 12.4; Adam Whitcomb, two mile, 13:54.0, and Alex Vazquez, 200 meters, 26.2.
