March 1, 2014 - Fitchburg High School junior Leo Ramirez finished fifth in the shot put with a throw of 52' 4.25" at the 27th Annual New England Interscholastic Indoor Track & Field Championships held Saturday morning at the Reggie Lewis Track & Field Center.
Ramirez's final performance concludes the 2013-2014 indoor track season for the Red Raiders.
February 23, 2014 - Fitchburg High School junior Leo Ramirez finished third in the shot put with a throw of 53' 6.5" at the MIAA All-State Meet held Saturday morning at the Reggie Lewis Track & Field Center.
Ramirez will represent Fitchburg High School next Saturday morning at the New England Championship Meet to be held at the Reggie Lewis Track & Field Center with that meet scheduled to get underway at 10:30 a.m.
February 15, 2014 - The Fitchburg High School boys' indoor track & field team finished eleventh in the MIAA Division III Championship held Saturday morning at the Reggie Lewis Track and Field Center, Roxbury.
The Red Raiders' Leo Ramirez finished first with a record breaking performance of 54' .75" in the shot put. Ramirez's throw broke the Fitchburg High School record of 53' 11.75" set by Leo LaRoche in 1969. Also scoring points for Fitchburg were Hunter Sallila, shot put, seventh, 44' 10"; Diosmar Reynoso, 600 meters, seventh, 1:27.36; and Jason Bugarin, two mile, eighth, 10:04.69.
Ramirez will represent Fitchburg High School at the MIAA All-State Championship next Saturday morning at the Reggie Lewis Track & Field Center with that meet scheduled to get underway at 9:30 a.m.
February 10, 2014 - Junior Leo Ramirez, by virtue of his first place performance in the shot put at the Mid-Wach A Championship, earned Mid-Wach A League All-Star status at the coaches post-season meeting Monday night. Also gaining recognition were seniors Jason Bugarin and Diosmar Reynoso, who were selected by coaches for their outstanding contributions throughout the season.
February 8, 2014 - The Fitchburg High School boys' indoor track & field team finished fourth in the District E, Division I Championship held Saturday afternoon at the Doug Grutchfield Field House.
The boys were led by Leo Ramirez, who captured first in the shot put with a throw of 48' 11", and the mile relay team comprised of Jason Bugarin, Josh LeShane, Diosmar Reynoso, and Josh Higgins, which also finished first in 3:49.15. Also finishing in the top six by order of finish were: Reynoso, 600 meters, third, 1:31.00; Hunter Sallila, shot put, third, 44'; Bugarin, mile, fifth, 4:49.62; and the two mile relay comprised of LeShane, Higgins, Connor Dufour, and Ben Phaneuf, sixth, 9:31.17. Also representing the Red Raiders in the meet were Greg Santiago, 55 meter dash, seventeenth, 7.31; and Eric Tran, 300 meters, eighteenth, 42.65.
The Red Raiders travel to the Reggie Lewis Track & Field Center next Saturday to compete in the MIAA Division III Championship with that meet scheduled to get underway at 9:30 a.m.
February 1, 2014 - The Fitchburg High School boys' indoor track & field team finished fourth in Mid-Wach A Championship held Saturday afternoon at the Doug Grutchfield Field House.
The boys were led by Leo Ramirez, who captured first in the shot put with a throw of 50' 4.25". Finishing second were: Jason Bugarin, mile, 4:45.7; Diosmar Reynoso, 600 meters, 1:28.24; and the mile relay team comprised of Josh Higgins, Josh LeShane, Bugarin, and Reynoso, 3:54.54. Also finishing in the top six by order of finish were: Hunter Sallila, shot put, third, 42'8.25"; the 880 yard relay team comprised of Stephane Kamayou, Alex Landry, Greg Santiago, and Eric Tran, fourth, 1:56.66; Higgins, 600 meters, fifth, 1:32.89; and the two mile relay team comprised of Augustin Sanchez, Noah Giordano, Connor Dufour, and Ben Phaneuf, sixth, 10:10.03.
The Red Raiders host the District E Division I Championship next Saturday afternoon with that meet scheduled to get underway at 2:00 p.m.
January 26, 2014 - Fitchburg High School junior Leo Ramirez competed to a seventh place finish in the shot put Sunday morning at the MSTCA Elite Meet with a throw of 49' 10".
The Red Raiders host the Mid-Wach A League Championship this Saturday with that meet scheduled to get underway at 1:00 p.m.
January 25, 2014 - The Fitchburg High School boys' indoor track & field team turned several outstanding performances at the 51st Annual MSTCA Coaches Invitational held Saturday at the Reggie Lewis Track & Field Center. The Red Raiders were led by Jason Bugarin, who finished eleventh in the two mile with a career best 10:06.57.
Also representing Fitchburg in the meet by order of finish were: Hunter Sallila, shot put, twenty-sixth, 42' 2"; Diosmar Reynoso, 1000 meters, thirty-seventh, 2:46.65; Josh LeShane, 1000 meters, fifty-fourth, 2:50.91; and Josh Higgins, 600 meters, fifty-seventh, 1:31.33.
Leo Ramirez will represent the Red Raiders in the shot put tomorrow morning at the MSTCA Elite Meet at the Reggie Lewis Track & Field Center with that meet scheduled to get underway at 9:30 a.m.
January 22, 2014 - The Fitchburg High School boys' indoor track & field team defeated North Middlesex Regional, 57 to 29, Wednesday night at the Doug Grutchfield Field House.
Leading the way was Leo Ramirez, who shattered the Fitchburg High School Facility Record in shot put with a throw of 50' 6". Also collecting first place performances in the meet were: Josh Higgins, two mile, 11:51.2; Greg Santiago, 55 meter high hurdles, 10.7; Eric Tran, 55 meter dash, 7.2; Jason Bugarin, mile, 4:56.8; Diosmar Reynoso, 600 meters, 1:31.4; the 880 relay team comprised of Stephane Kamayou, Travis Storm, Tran, and Higgins, 1:49.5; and the mile relay team comprised of Ben Phaneuf, Bugarin, Augustin Sanchez, and Reynoso, 4:09.9. Second place performances went to Hunter Sallila, shot put, 43' 9"; Reynoso, high jump, 4' 8"; Kamayou, 55 meter high hurdles, 11.6; Santiago, 55 meter dash, 7.3; and Phaneuf, mile, 5:14.2. January 15, 2014 - The Fitchburg High School boys' indoor track & field team was defeated by the Shrewsbury Colonials, 61 to 30, Wednesday night in Shrewsbury.
The Red Raiders were led by the first place performances of Leo Ramirez, shot put, 50'; Joshua Higgins, two mile, 11:24.1; and Diosmar Reynoso, 1000 meters, 2:54.5. Finishing second were: Elijah Gray, high jump, 5'; Jared Morcaldi, two mile, 12:13.1; Higgins, 600 meters, 1:33.6; and Jason Bugarin, mile, 4:57.3. Completing the scoring by finishing third were: Hunter Sallila, shot put, 42' 9"; Greg Santiago, 55 meter high hurdles, 10.3; and Ben Phaneuf, mile, 5:22.3.

January 12, 2014 - The Fitchburg High School boys' indoor track & field team finished tenth at the 46th Annual James Kalperis MSTCA Division III Relays held Sunday morning at the Reggie Lewis Track & Field Center.
The boys were led by the shot put relay team comprised of Leo Ramirez, Hunter Sallila, and Jose Marrero, which finished second with a school record 128' 4.25" eclipsing the old record of 126' 7.75" set in 2003. Also finishing in the top six was the 3200 meter relay team comprised of Jason Bugarin, Josh LeShane, Josh Higgins, and Diosmar Reynoso, which finished fourth in 8:37.99.
Other teams representing the Red Raiders in the meet were by order of finish: the distance medley relay comprised of LeShane, Higgins, Reynoso, and Ben Phaneuf, eighth, 11:40.78; the 50 yard shuttle relay team comprised of Alex Marrero, Greg Santiago, Travis Storm, and Eric Tran, eleventh, 24.42; the sprint medley team comprised of Jared Morcaldi, C.J. January 8, 2014 - The Fitchburg High School boys' indoor track & field team defeated arch-rival Leominster, 56 to 33, Wednesday night at the Doug Grutchfield Field House.
The Red Raiders were led by Jason Bugarin, who captured the two mile, 10:50.6, and mile, 5:01.3. Individual first place performances went to Diosmar Reynoso, 600 meters, 1:31.5; Josh LeShane, 1000 meters, 2:58.3; Leo Ramirez, shot put, 47' 5"; and the 1600 meter relay comprised of LeShane, Elijah Gray, Jared Morcaldi, and Reynoso, 4:09.0. January 5, 2014 - The Fitchburg High School boys' indoor track & field team turned in two top six performances at the 30th Annual Red Auerbach/MSTCA Freshman Sophomore small School Championship Meet held Sunday at the Reggie Lewis Track & Field Center. The Red Raiders were led by Michael Bourque, who finished fourth in the shot put, 37' 4.25", and Joshua Higgins, who finished fifth in the 1000 meters, 2:54.75.
Also representing Fitchburg in the meet by order of finish were: Ben Phaneuf, 1000 meters, twelfth, 2:58.67; the 4X200 relay comprised of Alex Merrero, C.J. December 27, 2013 - The Fitchburg High School boys' indoor track & field team was defeated by the Wachusett Regional Mountaineers, 63 to 24, Friday morning at Wachusett Regional.
The Red Raiders were led by the first place performances of Leo Ramirez, shot put, 45' 5.25"; Jason Bugarin, two mile, 10:28.0; and Diosmar Reynoso, 1000 meters, 2:53.8. Finishing second were: Hunter Sallila, shot put, 38' 7.25"; and Joshua Higgins, 600 meters, 1:35.4. Completing the scoring by finishing third were: Jose Marrero, shot put, 36' 3"; Greg Santiago, 55 meter dash, 7.3; and Ben Phaneuf, mile, 5:26.7.

December 21, 2013 - The Fitchburg High School boys' indoor track & field team turned in several top six performances at the MSTCA Winter Festival Track & Field Invitational held Saturday at the Reggie Lewis Track & Field Center. The Red Raiders were led by Leo Ramirez, who finished second in the shot put, 46' 1.5", and the 1600 meter relay team comprised of Josh Higgins, Josh LeShane, Jason Bugarin, and Diosmar Reynoso, which also finished second in 3:42.14. Reynoso also finished sixth in the 600 meters with a time of 1:28.90.

The Red Raiders were led by Hunter Sallila, who finished first in the shot put, 40'. Finishing second were: Jason Bugarin, two mile, 10:35.6; Jose Marrero, shot put, 37' 7.25"; Diosmar Reynoso, 600 meters, 1:31.7; and Josh LeShane, 1000 meters, 3:00.7. Finishing fourth were: Eric Tran, 300 meters, 42.3; and Joshua Higgins, 1000 meters, 3:05.7. Completing the top six performances for Fitchburg was Michael Bourque, sixth, shot put, 34' 5.5".
